Mansfield (Victoria)
Mansfield is located 2.5 hours drive from Melbourne and is a great place for a bike riding holiday.
Situated in the breathtaking Victorian high country, Mansfield was one of the hang-outs of the infamous “Kelly Gang” and was where much of the filming of “The Man From Snowy River” was conducted.
The area produces fine wine and there are plenty of great eateries in and around town as well.
The Bike Riding
Firstly Mansfield is a great base for those wanting to ride the epic cross-country and downhill mountain bike trails of Mt Buller.
For families or those that just want to cruse and take in the magical scenery, Mansfield is the Eastern starting point of the 120 km Great Victorian Rail Trail which runs west to Tallarook.
And Mansfield even has its own mountain bike park suitable to beginners & intermediates with some advanced trails.
