This tour starts & finishes in Bright. From your base in Bright, Victoria’s ultimate Mountain Biking destination, there are 6 purpose-built bike parks within easy reach and local trails.

However, on this gravity-fed tour you will ride two of the best purpose-built mountain bike parks in the region – Falls Creek and Dinner Plain.

These trails are the perfect combo for when the temperatures start to rise due to their elevation.

We spend a day shuttling at Falls Creek and a guided day in Dinner Plain.

Falls Creek Mountain Bike Park has some of Australia’s most talked-about trails, featuring manicured flow trails, gnarly downhills and plenty of cross country single track that start and finish at the resort base. Included is a full day of shuttles so you can bag as many runs as possible. Ride over 40 kilometres of machine-built single track, winding through the serene snow gums and brilliant alpine terrain. This is a destination for some serious mountain biking fun!

Dinner Plain is situated in the trees above 1500 m, making this place a cool change from the parks located in the valleys below. Featuring flowing natural trails, plenty of climbing, sweet descending, a pump track in the car park and even some downhill shredding. Blizzard Brewery sits midway between the two drop-in points, so after a good pump and pedal, it’s always a good place to stop for some hydration.

Once back in Bright each evening, enjoy a hard-earned ice-cold locally brewed craft beer at Bright Brewery and check out one of the many restaurants available in town (or hang at the brewery for dinner).

Difficulty & Ability:

This tour is open to riders who are comfortable in riding on single-track Mountain bike trails. Each day your guides will give helpful pointers on any questions you may have. If you don’t quite have the fitness to tackle some of the big ascents, don’t worry, you’ve got a day of gravity shuttles at Falls Creek to take you back to the top after each descent.

Bike required:

The price for this tour doesn’t include bike rentals so if you have your own bring it along. However if you need a bike & accessories Mint Tours can assist or arrange this for you in Bright. The most ideal bike would be a long-travel enduro bike that can handle the gnarliness of the bike parks, yet pedal to the surrounding backcountry trails if that’s your thing. However any off-road MTB with front & rear suspension will do the job. If you are trying to decide what bike to bring, keep in mind that the bike parks all have terrain that warrants a bike that can handle steep trails, rocks and jumps which will take you and your bike to the edge. You’ll also need a full-face helmet, knee pads, elbow pads and gloves. Ask Mint for a full gear list or to arrange rentals.

Accommodation

Throughout the tour you’ll stay in a modern motel with bike friendly facilities that is centrally located in Bright. The comfortable single share rooms are equipped with king beds, private ensuite bathroom, TV, and free WiFi. This cycle friendly motel has dedicated bike wash bay, bike maintenance bench with pump, and custom-built, fully-enclosed bike security shed with individually-lockable racks.

Your Hosts / Guides

This tour is hosted by Mint’s local MTB team. Not only do they know every marked trail, they are looking forward to showing you some of their ‘local’s only’ secret spots. Their big mountain experience makes them the perfect hosts for the weekend. They are always more than happy to provide you with some tips and feedback on the mountain, and share a beer and some laughs at the end of the day.
